Romania is a larger country in Europe with 238,391 sq. km. This makes it smaller than Oregon by a bit. It has 225 km of coastline. With a temperate climate and earthquakes it is close to the USA Midwestern states.

    

     In Bucharest, the capital, a republic government is carried out. It declared independence on 9 May 1877.  The National Anthem "Desteapta-te romane!" and the Golden eagle are two parts of their heritage.
